SBC stands for Standards Based Communications. Standards Based Communications is an advanced platform which can support a number of different communication services. SBC was originally created by Cable & Wireless PLC, with the aim of allowing new services and also increasing traffic capacity on existing networks. The main difference in speeding up the process was due to the fact that the network did not have to be rebuilt in order for new services to run.
