Overflow (or AB overflow) is a term most commonly used in the contact center industry to describe the number of calls that a queue’s capacity cannot support. Overflow is essentially an overflow of callers that continue to ring after each queue’s max time has been exceeded, so all agents are busy. Common causes of overflow from a contact center perspective include an extended issue with an internal or external line, and technical difficulties with hardware
